FAQs about Participating in Shoots

FAQs about Participating in Shoots

STI Testing

  • Where can I get tested?

There are many options available. Feel free to choose any option that works within your budget and healthcare access.

We typically recommend the 10-panel test, purchased through STDCheck.com with blood samples taken at a variety of local labs. It costs about $140 and, depending on location, takes 2-4 days to process.

You can also get tested with your primary care physician. Although there are many doctors who drag their feet about STI testing, it is preventive medicine, your legal right, and it is in the best interest of public health. Don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself.

Public health departments also offer some STI testing. Appointments are often booked out far in advance, but if you have the time to wait, it’s a good low-cost alternative if you’re uninsured.

If you prefer anonymous testing and fast results, you can get tested at Talent Testing Services (TTS) for approximately $350.

  • Do you accept at-home testing?

No, we do not accept at-home testing because it cannot be verified.

  • I’m a virgin / I haven’t had sex with anyone but my partner for the last 3 million years / I promise I’m clean. Do I really have to provide test results?

Since there is no way of verifying someone’s sexual activity, the only way we can ensure the safety of all participants is to require proof of STI testing.

  • I don't have a recent test result, can I just wear condoms?

No, condoms are not required. All participants have sent their STI test results in advance. If you want to use condoms, your body, your choice. If you want to receive penetration with condoms only, we fully support your boundary and will ask anyone we see violating this boundary to leave. However, because of the magnitude of what’s going on during scenes, we cannot guarantee the ability to monitor and enforce this for you.

  • How do I send my STI results?

You can send your STI results to info@vanessacliff.com as a picture, screenshot, google drive link, or video of you opening your results on your computer.

Please make sure your STI results include your name and the date of the test.

Release Forms, IDs and Your Identity

  • Why do you need my ID? What do the release forms say?

The event will be filmed and posted on this website, as well as other clip sites, tube sites and subscription sites. Basically, consider that attending means your role in adult content will be all over the internet.

The release forms say you are over the age of 18, understand how the content will be used, and are participating with fully informed, enthusiastic consent.

ID pics are required to prove you’re of legal age and are the one signing the form.

You can read the release form in full here

  • Can I wear a mask?

Yes, wearing masks is fine. For example, you can buy black ski masks online for $7.

  • Can you blur my face in the video?

No. We don’t blur faces, we don’t ask the videographers to avoid specific people, and we don’t cut people out after the fact. If you show up, you will be on camera and on the internet.

One of the goals of Cliff Media is to show the world what enthusiastic consent, queer-led porn and inclusive sex-positive community could look like. So we post content all over the internet - including on Cliff Media's website and tube sites like PornHub.

Please don’t come if you aren’t 100% comfortable with that.

Event Attendance

  • How do you choose who can attend?

In general, we look for people who submit STI results in advance, show up on time with ID in hand, and are positive, humble and kind.

We welcome all participants regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, body size or appearance!

Some shoots are exclusive to women and queer-identifying people, for the purposes of building queer leadership in a supportive space. Most shoots are open to all, regardless of identity. All shoots are led and directed by some fuckin fabulous queer and trans people.

  • Do you need to see pictures of me?

No, thank you. People of any body type, age, gender, and appearance are welcome. The only pictures we need to see are pictures of your STI results.

  • Can I come just to watch?

Attendees can choose to participate to whatever extent makes them comfortable.  However:

    • Everyone in attendance is still required to sign release forms and provide ID.
    • With the exception of videographers, all participants are required to provide STI results whether they plan to participate sexually or not.
  • I only want to come if the other people are attractive. Can you tell me who else is coming?

There is no way to know with certainty in advance who is coming and we do not screen applicants based on physical appearance. We prioritize working with people who are reliable, positive and kind, and we hope you do, too!

  • How many people are coming to the shoot?

Because some people submit STI results on the week of the shoot, and not everyone who says they are going to come shows up, there is no way to know with certainty in advance who or how many people will attend.

  • What is the shoot location?

We give out the shoot location to people who have submitted their test results. If you have submitted STI results, you will receive logistics details no later than one week before the shoot.

What to Expect at the Event

  • I’ve been to lots of play parties, but never to a porn set. What’s different, what should I know?

    • Please be aware of where the camera is. Don’t block the camera’s view with your body.
    • If you think you’re about to squirt / cum, please let us know - “I’m about to cum!”. That allows the videographer to make sure to capture the moment.
    • Please make an effort to proactively connect with multiple people and be respectful by letting everyone have an opportunity to fully participate.
    • Please DO say creative, fun improvised things in character. Please DON’T have off-topic side conversations while the camera is rolling.
    • Porn websites have rules that restrict certain behavior. Please do not mention alcohol, drugs, rape, sexual assault, physical violence, consensual nonconsent, piss, scat, prostitution, or illegal activities.
    • Please keep phones, paperwork, and drinks (except water) off camera.
    • Only the professional videographers will be filming. Please no additional photography.

  • What are Vanessa's sexual boundaries?

Vanessa is easy and likes to be silly and spontaneous. You can fuck her however you like and say whatever you want, as long as it’s in good-natured fun and follows the guidelines below.

    Her “hell yes” list:

    • Making out, sexy eye contact, flirting, bantering, teasing
    • Cum anywhere
    • Eating her out
    • Deepthroat / face fucking
    • Pinching, biting, sucking on or twisting her nipples
    • Fingering, fisting
    • Anal, including double penetration and ass-to-mouth
    • Spitting on her, slapping, hair pulling, restraining her hands
    • Giving her commands, talking dirty, using words like cutie, love, good girl, slut, cunt, whore
    • “Ow” doesn’t mean stop, she likes pain

    Her “nope” list:

    • “Pause” is her safe word. Sometimes, so as not to interrupt filming, she will just pull away or tap you twice if she would like you to pause a particular sex act. No big deal, no need to say anything or apologize, just move on to doing something else or letting someone else take over for a while.
    • No body- or kink-shaming. If something is not your jam, do only what is your jam.
    • No transphobic, racist or sexist comments. This includes dirty talk. For example, Vanessa loves being called a "slut whore cunt", but that doesn't mean everyone likes that. Don’t say anything that could be construed as degrading to or about anyone else unless they’ve given explicit permission in advance.
    • No blood, scat, or vomit.
    • Please don’t touch her face with your hands.
    • Please use lube before anal. To prevent vaginal infection, if you go in her ass, please clean yourself, preferably by putting your dick in her mouth, or use a wipe or washcloth before going back in her cunt.

We will take time before we start filming to ask everyone to share their personal and sexual boundaries.

  • Do I have to wear a condom / can I wear a condom?

No, condoms are not required. All participants have sent their STI test results in advance.

If you want to use condoms, your body, your choice. If you want to receive penetration with condoms only, we fully support your boundary and will ask anyone we see violating this boundary to leave. However, because of the magnitude of what’s going on during scenes, we cannot guarantee the ability to monitor and enforce this for you.

  • I am a content creator. Will you share the content from the shoot?

Yes! We love collaborating and are happy to share content with all participating content creators.

    Please know that:

    • We will send content and release forms to content creators within 3 weeks after the shoot via Google Drive.
    • If you are a content creator on OnlyFans, because of the website's policy change as of December 2023, you will need to obtain your own release forms signed by each co-performer during the shoot, in addition to the standard Cliff Media forms that participants complete.
    • All content can be advertised on social media sites and posted behind paywalls (e.g. OnlyFans, ManyVids) at any time. When we send out content, we will specify a date before which content cannot go out on tube sites (e.g. PornHub, XVideos).
    • Because we believe in supporting porn production and group sex accessible to everyone regardless of income and class, we do not accommodate requests to exclude participants who have not paid hundreds of dollars for Talent Testing Services (TTS) results. We accept STI results from any source, including primary care doctors and public health clinics.
